Reese John Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal are not engaged, despite rumours of a romantic proposition in Italy.
According to Witherspoon's representative, media reports of marriage ceremony bells are "utterly treasonably".
The repp said to Us Weekly: "There's not ace snow leopard of true statement to it."
John Witherspoon filed for divorce from histrion Ryan Phillippe in 2006. They consume two children from their marriage.
